Besides, most plugins can slow our blog loading, which I highly do not recommend. We're trying to use the manual method, and it's easy for us to do it.
How To Deal With Spam On WordPress Without Plugins With This
1. First, ensure we have logged in to the WordPress Dashboard admin on our website. Then, go to the Settings section and select the Discussion option.
2. Note any settings after opening the Settings Discussion section. Then, we can do some configurations as follows.
3. Click only the Allow people to post comments on new articles section on the standard article settings.
4. Please click only on the Comment. The author must fill out your name and email and enable threaded (nested) comments in the other comment settings.
5. Please check both on my email at any time, i.e., Anyone posts a comment, and A comment is held for moderation. Be careful to be guided and thorough again.
6. Please check only the Comment must be manually approved section before the Comment appears.
7. We're now reaching the Blacklist comment section. This is also the most crucial aspect to pay attention to. If it includes spam, you can enter sensitive words.
8. Please download the blocklist text file I provided; these words represent a sufficient number of words we can automatically block from comments.
9. Use WinRAR to extract a blocklist text file.
10. Then, open the file and move it to the Comment Blocklist column.
11. Then click "Save Changes" to save the changes made.
Following the above steps will avoid spam comments on our WordPress blog. When there are comments that are almost identical to the words in the Comment Blacklist column, they will be automatically blocked through the built-in WordPress feature.
